About Us

About me

My name is Alexander Schilke, founder of Feng Huang GmbH.

I spent two years of my life in China. I learned the language, made friends, and not only saw the tea culture but experienced it firsthand.

That's where my idea originated.

Tea is not a trend in China. It is everyday life, ritual, and identity.

Why Feng Huang?

I tasted countless teas in China – directly from producers, at markets, in small teahouses. In doing so, I learned what truly matters: origin, processing, and honesty.

Many of these qualities are rarely found in Switzerland.

That's why I bring authentic Chinese tea directly to Switzerland. Transparently. Without unnecessary middlemen.

What sets us apart

We work with selected producers with whom I have personal contact.

Our selection is deliberately small. We prefer a few teas with character to interchangeable mass-produced goods.

What does "Feng Huang" mean?

“Feng Huang” (凤凰) means Phoenix - symbol of renewal and development.
When I lived in China, I was very young. That time shaped and changed me. Without it, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

The name therefore stands not only for Chinese tea culture - but also for growth and new beginnings.

My mission

I want to share real, high-quality tea and the culture behind it with you.

When you order here, you're not just buying tea - you're buying a piece of a journey that began in China.

Thank you for your trust.
